Mike was in town for an medical install at the Mayo Clinic so he stopped by for a short visit. He always brings the boys a gift when he comes. After they opened their masks, Noah wanted to battle!

A Day Trip to See the New Lyon's Den!
Me, Kayla and the kiddos drove up together to see Christine at her new place in Jacksonville. We had a nice visit at the house for a little bit and then headed to Chuck E Cheese to let the kiddos burn off some energy while we chatted. It didn't really end up like that but in our imaginations it was going to go just like that! Unfortunately, it was spring break and busy! Not to mention a certain grandparent that thought we needed to be right on the heels of our children's every move. That's kinda why it's a play place where they get stamped! So they can run around and play! Anyway, the kids had fun, we had a yummy lunch and we got to chat a little.

Crazy for Wild Kratts!
There is a cartoon on PBS Kids about two brothers, Chris and Martin Kratt, that has different episodes about saving animals called Wild Kratts. It teaches kids about how to make big impacts (such as building bat houses) while entertaining them with their wild and crazy antics. Ethan and Noah LOVE this show when it comes on TV. They also love playing the computer games on PBS.org. They have started getting badges and levels with one of the Wild Kratts games which gives them a Kratt brother dressed up as an explorer, Remora or something like that. They cut them out and glue them to paper or sticks. Ethan decided to make his a puppet show. Here are the pics of their craftiness!

Gettin' Crafty with Spidey!
I use my formal dining room table in the front room as a craft table. It's always ready to use for when inspiration strikes! I use it for scrapbooking and the boys use it for gettin' crafty! They color, glitter, cut and paste to their hearts' content! Luckily the floor in there is wood laminate so it all cleans up easy peasy!

Ft. Clinch with The Kelleys!
We've been trying to get together with our longtime friends, The Kelleys, at Ft. Clinch for about a year now. We finally got to go! Unfortunately it was on a Sunday due to T-Ball but at least we got to go. We still had a great time exploring!
The history of Ft. Clinch is as follows:
1847-1945
In 1842, the U.S. government purchased a tract of land on the northern end of Amelia Island, at the Florida-Georgia border. A military installation was to be built on the property, to guard the mouth of the St. Mary's River, protect coastal and interior shipping, and defend the deepwater port of Fernandina, Florida. Contruction began in 1847 on Ft. Clinch, named in honor of General Duncan Lamont Clinch, a respected officer who fought bravely in the Second Seminole War.
Today, Ft.Clinch stands as one of the finest examples of Third System fortifications now in existence and is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A Third System fortification is facility, masonry and stone, that is a two wall system, brick and earth.
This fort was used in the Civil War, the Spanish War and the Second World War.
