Vacation Bible School

So, this week was a win-win for me and the boys! I got 3 hours of "me" time every morning and they got to have fun at Christ the King's Vacation Bible School! I had higher hopes for my time alone, but alas, it ended up being cleaning and running errands. Grrr...I need to de-program myself! Well, at least I got to run errands without having to tell them to quit annoying each other, quit standing up in the cart, quit begging for another cookie, quit complaining that it's taking me so long to shop, and just cooperate for once! I could actually stroll leisurely through the store  and without worrying about what was being pulled off the shelves as we passed by. Oh yeah, back to vacation bible school. The kids had a blast! They did crafts, sang songs, had fun on the playground, had snack and made friends! And, when I picked them up, I just had to pull up to the curb while my little kiddos were called forth and deposited in to my waiting car. This is the life! Too bad, it's only one week. This week went awfully darn fast! I know the kids will miss it as much as I will. See ya next year, Christ the King Vacation Bible School!

Partyin' with the Dolphins!

On Sat, June 25th we headed to Marineland for Madison's 5th birthday party! This wasn't just any birthday party, the kids got to party with the dolphins! Lucky for those kids, Madison's daddy works at Marineland! So, here are some pics of the kids getting to touch and feed  the dolphins as well as pretend they are mini trainers. As you can imagine, fun was had by all!

Curious George Storytime

Last Friday, we met Jill, Evan and Milo at the Town Center Barnes & Noble for Curious George storytime with a visit from Curious George himself!  After the visit was over, the kids looked around and picked out some books to buy. Then, we headed over to see the fish and turtle pond - the kids' favorite part of the Town Center besides the train. who needs the zoo? ;) Luckily (for me anyway), we were able to avoid the train this time. We finished off our visit with some yummy lunch at Chick-Fil-A!

 My cool cat!

More Than Meets the Eye...It's Play Doh!

We were looking for a little girl's birthday gift in the dreaded, often visited  toy section  at Target and Ethan came across this new themed Play Doh set - Transformers! Since Transformers are currently the nexxus of Ethan's life AND it's summer time, we gave in. We knew this would help to occupy the loads of free time they have on their hands right now. And, boy has it! They have spent hours a day doing this on the back patio since they got it! And, I have to admit that it makes some pretty cool Transformers!

David's 7th Birthday Party!

Naomi and Karl found the perfect place for a train lover's birthday party! The Beaches Museum and History Center has a building with a train in it that the kids can climb all over! Worked out even better in the summer that it was inside the air conditioning! The kids had a blast playing in the train, ringing its bell ( a million times ) and going on a scavenger hunt!

The birthday boy, David!

Ringing that bell!

And the scavenger hunt begins! Ethan took this VERY seriously! Noah got pretty involved too!
 Marking down their finds....

 Star Wars cake!

checking out the HO scale trains in the adjacent building. Ethan was in heaven!
